Employers have a duty of care to investigate and report accidents and incidents in the workplace. This course provides the knowledge to determine underlying causes and identify failures of occupational Health and Safety management. Improvements can be then implemented for the protection of employees from work activities that are hazardous. When action is taken to address each of the factors found as a result of investigation, not only is the likelihood of a similar incident minimised, it may be instrumental in preventing accidents of a different nature in which one of these factors may play a part.
This course covers the principles of accident investigation and reporting. It provides delegates the knowledge to conduct effective accident investigations, how to report and learn lessons to prevent re-occurrence.
